This breed originated in Boston, USA. The crosses that eventually culminated in this dog began in the 1860′s. There are several versions regarding the purpose for which this breed of dog was created. One version holds that it was a dog fight. Another version says it was a trick of the servants of the high society used to care for dogs respectable lineages.
